Awesome Cards: Poker Deck Design
Awesome Cards is a project I absolutely had to include on this website, as it’s my first and only project so far to showcase my skills in the United Kingdom. For some background, I was hired by the CEO, Jordan Selig, to bring his vision to life. His idea was something I immediately felt passionate about: A deck of poker cards with a twist. The twist? Each card would suggest a different kind of game. The deck was created in three distinct color sets: Blue, Green, and Red.After a month of brainstorming, designing, refining, and formatting, the final designs were ready:
With the first batch of decks in production, Jordan was ready to begin promoting his creation. He signed up for several fairs and conventions, and once again, he hired me to design the booth. Based on the brief he provided, I designed a backdrop and tablecloth, utilizing vibrant, contrasting colors. The blue tones were chosen to convey strength, while the yellow added a sense of joy and energy to the booth's overall presence.
To give Jordan a clearer vision of the final booth setup, I complemented the designs with a small render created in SketchUp Pro.
The experience of working on Awesome Cards remains a memorable one. Designing the promotional materials, from the decks to the booth, gave me the chance to stretch my creative energy and gain experience in creating engaging, impactful visuals for a brand. While the project is currently on hold, I’m proud of the work I contributed and look forward to seeing how it evolves when Jordan resumes his efforts in the future.
